Grid Trivia GamesDaily 3×3 Puzzles, Immaculate Grid Style

Nine squares. Every answer has to satisfy two categories at once. Fill the grid, chase the rare answers, and share your board.

Grid games are the hottest format in trivia — the 3×3 puzzle popularized by Immaculate Grid and Crossover Grid, where each square must satisfy both its row and its column. Name a striker who played for Barcelona and won a World Cup; an actor who worked with Scorsese and won an Oscar. Easy squares fill fast — the last one is the one you'll be thinking about at dinner. Every accepted answer in our grids is verified against reliable sources before the puzzle ships, and where rarity scoring is on, obscure-but-correct picks earn the bragging rights. All free, no signup. If grids aren't your speed, our full games catalog has quizzes, battles and daily puzzles for every category.

How to Play a Grid Game

The board is a 3×3 grid. Three categories run across the top, three run down the side, and every square is the intersection of one of each. Your job: for each square, come up with an answer that satisfies both — the row and the column. Type your answer, and the game checks it against a verified answer list.

Strategy matters more than it looks. The tempting move is to burn your famous answers early — but a superstar often fits several squares, and once used, an answer can't repeat. Grid veterans scan the whole board first, save the flexible names for the hardest intersections, and spend the obvious squares on answers that fit nowhere else. And where rarity scoring is on, resist the famous pick entirely: the journeyman defender nobody remembers is worth far more than the icon everyone guesses.

When you finish — or run out of guesses — share your board and challenge a friend to beat it. Then come back tomorrow: the grid rotates, and the empty square that beat you today will bother you until it does.

Grid Games FAQ

What is a grid trivia game?

A 3×3 puzzle where each row and each column is a category. For every one of the nine squares, you name an answer that satisfies both its row and its column — for example, an actor who appeared in a Tarantino film AND won an Oscar. Fill all nine to complete the grid.

How does rarity scoring work?

Where rarity scoring is available, each correct answer shows how many other players picked it. Common answers score modestly; obscure-but-correct answers score big. The fun is completing the grid with the deepest cuts you know.

Are the grid answers verified?

Yes. Every accepted answer in our grids is verified against reliable sources before the puzzle ships — the same verification standard used across all Best Trivia Games quizzes.

Are the grid games free? Do I need an account?

Completely free, no signup, no app download. Open the page and play — on phone or desktop.

Which grid should I start with?

Movie fans should start with the Movie Grid; soccer fans with the World Cup Grid. The Premier League × World Cup Grid is the toughest crossover, and the Liga MX Grid covers Mexican football — also available in Spanish.
