The nine inner squares are where you play, and every one sits at the crossing point of one club and one achievement.
To solve a square you need a single player who did both things. A square where Chelsea meets World Cup winner needs a footballer who both played for Chelsea and lifted the trophy with his country — N'Golo Kanté, who won it with France in 2018, is exactly that kind of answer. A player who only did one of the two — a Chelsea great who never won a World Cup, or a World Cup winner who never played for Chelsea — does not count. That double condition is what makes the grid tick.
Because every square is multiple choice, you never have to guess a spelling or dig an obscure transfer out of memory. Tap a square and the game shows four candidate names in a shuffled order.
